Product Information

Yes, for all our bed linen products we offer standard UK sized options.  To view these select Bed Linen > Standard Size Collections from the menu.

Thread count simply refers to how many threads – horizontally and vertically – are woven into one square inch of fabric.  Generally, anything between 180 – 400 thread count is ideal for domestic use.  We’ve sourced a selection of the highest quality fabrics at 200, 250, 400 and 800 thread counts to give you a good range to choose from.

We highly recommend that you wash your bed linen before first use. Cotton can shrink by approx 5% when first washed, so a sizing allowance has been made to accommodate this.  Wash at 40°C, ideally with the bed linen on its own, and avoid overloading your machine.  The more you wash the softer the cotton will get.

If possible, dry your bed linen flat on a washing line or over a radiator, (drying in a tumble dryer on a medium heat is also fine).  For best results we recommend that you remove the linen from drying when it is still slightly damp, this will significantly help with the ironing.

To get that crisp, perfect look it’s best to iron your bed linen, ideally when it is slightly damp to make the ironing easier.  Ironing also helps to kill off any bacteria.

Bespoke Bed Linen Frequently Asked Questions

Luxury standard size bed linen is made using higher quality fabrics, finer yarns and more precise finishing than standard high street bedding. English Bed Linen offers luxury bed linen in standard UK sizes, using fabrics such as Egyptian cotton in 400 and 800 thread counts. The difference is in the feel, durability and detailing, including optional embroidery and embellishment.

Egyptian cotton bed linen is made from long staple cotton fibres, which produce smoother, stronger and softer yarns. This results in sheets that feel crisp yet silky and improve over time with washing. It is considered luxury due to its durability, breathability and refined finish.

400 thread count Egyptian cotton offers a crisp, breathable and hotel-style feel. 800 thread count provides a denser, smoother and slightly heavier finish with a silkier touch. The best option depends on whether you prefer a lighter, fresh feel or a richer, more indulgent drape.

800 thread count refers to the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. A higher thread count typically creates a smoother and denser fabric. In Egyptian cotton, 800 thread count sheets feel softer and more substantial than lower thread counts.

Personalised embroidered bedding allows you to add custom text to your sheets or pillowcases. English Bed Linen offers embroidery between 3 and 20 characters, suitable for initials, monograms or full names. The embroidery is stitched directly into the fabric for a refined and long lasting finish.

English Bed Linen allows between 3 and 20 characters to be embroidered onto selected products. This makes it suitable for monograms, couples’ initials or short names.

Standard UK bed sheet sizes typically include Single, Double, King and Super King. English Bed Linen designs its standard collections to fit these UK mattress dimensions accurately.

Made to measure bed linen is custom sized bedding created to fit non standard mattress dimensions. It is useful for deeper mattresses, bespoke beds or unusual sizing. English Bed Linen offers both standard UK sizes and made to measure options.

Polyblend cotton sheets are an easy-care alternative to Egyptian cotton. They are generally more crease resistant and practical for everyday use. Egyptian cotton, however, offers a more premium feel and higher level of softness.

You can buy luxury standard size bed linen directly from English Bed Linen. The brand offers standard UK sizing, multiple fabric options including Egyptian cotton and the ability to personalise bedding with embroidery.

Electric Beds Frequently Asked Questions

Fitted sheets for electric beds are specially designed sheets made to fit adjustable beds that move and change position. Unlike standard fitted sheets, they are tailored to stay secure when the bed raises or lowers, preventing slipping, bunching, or coming loose during use.

Standard sheets are designed for fixed mattresses and often come loose when an electric bed adjusts. As the mattress moves, regular sheets can shift, wrinkle, or pop off the corners, which is why custom fitted sheets designed for adjustable beds provide a better solution.

English Bed Linen electric bed sheets are designed with elastic running continuously around both the top and bottom edges, rather than just at the corners. They also include a discreet retaining strap beneath the centre of the sheet to keep it secure while the bed moves.

Yes. Each sheet is made to measure based on the exact dimensions of your electric bed mattress. This ensures a precise fit that remains smooth and secure even when the bed adjusts.

Custom fitted sheets are suitable for most adjustable and profiling beds, including those used in homes, care environments, and luxury adjustable sleep systems.
